As an FYI, the Micron Windows tool did not work, so don't even bother to download it. I decided to then download Ubuntu to a USB stick and boot into their USB stick version without installing it on my machine. I then went onto the Micron site and noticed they had a Linux version of the Storage Executive tool. The ISO Crucial/Micron provide does not work (an earlier version from Nov/Dec told me there were no upgrades, and latest version I downloaded today just boots into a grub shell and does nothing). Basically Crucial's support site is rubbish, and that is being rather generous.
I have been literally pulling my hair out on this one and after a lot of thinking, I have been able to solve the problem.
